	Kennewick is the largest city in the region. Kennewick is recognized as one of Washington s most progressive cities. The mighty Columbia River borders Kennewick to the north, and the city is home to Columbia Park which hosts the Family Fishing Pond, the splash park, the Playground of Dreams, a public golf course, portions of the Sacagawea Heritage Trail and natural habitat for birding enthusiast to enjoy.

	The city of Pasco is one of the fastest growing cities in Washington State and also one of leading cities for growth and development ranking 29th in the country. Pasco is recognized for its aesthetic and recreational charisma surrounded by natural beauty. Its diverse culture, thriving economy, public transportation, major medical facilities and award winning educational services provide a diverse palette for economic and community resources. The recreational activities are limitless with bicycle and jogging paths, baseball and soccer fields. Interstate 82, U.S. Highway 395 and State Route 12 link Pasco to transcontinental highways, not to mention the Port for waterways and the rail service! For business or a place to visit, the city of Pasco has something for everyone.

	Richland started out as a small farming community...but the population boomed from about 1,500 to more than 51,000 residents in 1943 when the government built the country s first nuclear reactor on the Hanford Site. The Hanford Site continues to play a major role in the Tri-cities economy and is also a huge part of the science and technology communities worldwide. The Hanford Reach is the last free-flowing stretch of the Columbia River in the United States and was recently designated as a National Monument by President Clinton.

	Once the two small communities of Enterprise and Heminger city, the city of West Richland was the Tri-cities growth leader during the decade of the 1990 s, doubling its population. The city continues to grow due to the popularity of the mix of urban and rural living that West Richland offers. This growth has attracted new businesses and the addition of a new elementary and middle school. West Richland is prepared to welcome new commercial and industrial development with its open spaces, available land and infrastructure. West Richland s Flat Top Park has become the center for family events throughout the year: Summer Concert Series, Hogs & Dogs, Fall Harvest Festival, and December s Carols and Cocoa. West Richland also hosts an annual Veteran s Day Parade in November.
